ESSkiA Races:
The English Schools Ski Association runs a weekend of regional qualifying races each September ahead of the national schools championships which take place in October each year.
Success at the national finals can lead to school team selection to represent England at the British Schools Championships. Individuals participating for their schools in ESSKIA events may be selected to join the ESSKIA squads which train in Austria and Norway each year.
From there, squad members may be selected to represent England at the ISF World School Championships which takes place every two years. Further information about ESSkiA can be found at www.esskia.com.
Regional and Area Races:
In addition to the ESSkiA races, there are regional and area schools ski races which take place locally at other times of the year.
The Birmingham and South Midlands Schools race usually takes place in March each year at Ackers Adventure in Birmingham. This race is organised by Midland Ski Club.
The Telford Schools race usually takes place in November at Telford Ski Centre.
